I came home from work early because I realized I made an error in the stair pattern. My calculations were correct but they were out of phase. I drew the last tread on as if it was the same as a centre tread with a 1.5 inch tread. In fact, it has no tread, just the floor. I spent a good part of the afternoon figurng out what I did wrong and the evening correcting it. They should be fixed for Donnie to start routering tomorrow.

Yesterday the plumber finished up his work. Donnie and I hung out for the day working on odds and ends while he was working just to be sure there were no more mistakes and there weren't.

Today we went down as soon as Donnie got home from work. I drew the pattern on one of the stringers and Donnie cut it. While I was dong the second one our new neighbors Wendy and Dave and their kids came to see the new house. Cory stopped by too.

We spent the evening at the house working. I cleaned up some and we worked on the calculations for the stringers.

December 2, 2007

We had a family work weekend. Heather and Dad came to work and Don came. Mom joined us later and took Isaac back to the house to give him a break.

I cooked chili for everyone and fresh biscuits. They must have been good b/c they were gone when I turned around.

The work of the day was styrofoam insulation. Dad, Don and Heather worked on that while Donnie and I checked and revised the stair plans.

The plumber worked for a while too. He has about one day left to finish and we have a mistake to fix :( He drilled through from the bathroom for the water lines but he forgot about the restrictions below. We have two nice holes into the kitchen ceiling we have to repair. So far without fixing the holes no one has noticed them so I think they'll be fine patched but it still sucks that it is even necessary.
